Why Us !
KMA Vaccine Initiative
The KMA Vaccine Initiative aims to promote vaccination awareness in the Kurdish community through educational videos and social media posts. Vaccines are used to help prepare the immune system for potential exposures to harmful diseases, and before being administered to the public, they must undergo rigorous testing to ensure their efficacy and safety. As such, vaccines can save lives on a large scale, making it vital for everyone to protect themselves for their own safety and the betterment of the community.
Goals:
Advocate for community-wide vaccination
Provide accurate and up-to-date information about vaccines and their benefits
Dissolve myths and misconceptions surrounding vaccines and their safety
Journeys in Medicine Series
The KMA Journeys in Medicine series seeks to help facilitate mentorship and medical representation through direct connection between Kurdish physicians and prospective students.
The goal of this series was to interview Kurdish physicians as part of our organic mentorship program in order to connect aspiring students to established doctors. The hope is to inspire Kurdish high school and pre-medical students to go into the field of medicine. We aimed to expose students to Kurdish representation in the medical field, as well as provide valuable information from a relatable source about being a pre-med student, medical school, and the residency process.
Kurdish CPR Project
CPR is a basic life skill that anyone can learn to help potentially save a life. A staggering 90% of people who experience cardiac arrests outside of the hospital pass away, and this percentage can be directly reduced by performing CPR. These Kurdish CPR videos are the first of their kind and we hope that the Kurdish community benefits from them.
